Give us a call or schedule an appointment with our team online today. Ready to upgrade into a brand new Nissan?! Even better! We have plenty of brand new incentives happening right here at the dealership this winter. Check out those deals on our specials page and hurry on by to see our team for a test drive at your convenience!

Emergency Kit:

  • It’s always a good idea to be prepared in the event of an emergency, especially in the winter months. We encourage you to keep an extra coat, warm hat, gloves, and extra socks in your vehicle. It’s a good idea to keep a blanket, phone charger, flashlight, bottle of water, and a small non-perishable snack.

Stop Foggy Windows:

  • Foggy windows are no stranger in the winter season. And they can lead to potentially dangerous situations. Roll down your windows to quickly defog those windows or keep a clean chalkboard eraser in your vehicle to wipe away the fog.

Keep Yourself From Getting Stuck:

  • If your vehicle is a little on the lighter side, we encourage you to place a few bags of kitty litter in the back of your vehicle or trunk. This will aid in traction in the rear of your vehicle. And also keep a small shovel in the event you get stuck.

Keep The Underside Of Your Vehicle Clean:

  • It’s important to keep your vehicle clean all year long, but it’s especially important to keep the underside of your vehicle clean during the winter. Dirt, salt, and ice can accumulate underneath and cause erosion. Get a car wash on a warmer day and park your vehicle in the garage.

Avoid Frozen Wiper Blades:

  • Whether it’s a little snow or ice, no one likes frozen over wiper blades. We recommend leaving your wiper blades propped up when your vehicle is in park or place a pair of socks over the blades to keep them from freezing.

The holiday season is over, but winter is just beginning. We still have several months of winter weather ahead of us, and as many of you know, ever-changing and harsh weather conditions can be hard on your vehicle. That’s why it is important to keep your Nissan in tip-top shape with regular maintenance. The past couple of months has been pretty busy for all of us. Whether you’ve been running around getting gifts or traveling for the holidays, right now is the perfect time to pop open the hood and see what kind of condition your ride is in. Below you will find a maintenance checklist that is perfect for your ride’s checkup! However, if you don’t know much about your vehicle or you don’t have time to roll up your sleeves, don’t stress! Our team of certified technicians can get your vehicle back into tip-top shape in no time! Just head over to our website to schedule your service appointment now!

Check and change the oil:

  • Regular oil and filter changes will keep your engine’s life running longer
  • Nothing will destroy an engine faster than neglecting oil-level checks or fresh-oil changes.

Flush and change the cooling system:

  • A 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water will keep the cooling system in good shape and prevent corrosion and deposits from building up inside the cooling system.
  • Be sure to change your coolant once a year

Change out transmission and differential oils:

  • While not requiring frequent service, these fluids must be changed according to service intervals.
  • Before topping off fluids, be sure that it is the proper oil and transmission fluid needed for your vehicle

Clean it up:

  • Washing your vehicle is obvious, but when it comes to cleaning the vehicle’s underside many of us fall short.
  • Everything the vehicle ran over can also get stuck to the underside, hosing off winter salt and road grime is a good idea to keep from corrosion or build up.

Grease it up:

  • Everything with moving parts needs grease to survive, make sure the proper vehicle parts remain greased as needed

Wax on, wax off:

  • Nothing keeps your vehicle’s paint looking good and protected like a coat of quality wax.
  • Wax should be applied every six months.

Keep Driveline components Lubricated:

  • Driveline components such as u-joints also require regular lubrication

Protect it from harmful UVs:

  • Protect the interior plastic by parking the vehicle in the shade, harmful UVs can deteriorate the plastic
  • On sunny days, be sure to use a window deflector screen
  •  Applying a UV protectant to prevent the plastic and vinyl from drying out can also help

Keep your wheels fresh to death:

  • Inspect, clean, and repack wheel bearings with wheel bearing grease according to service intervals
  • This is a pretty cheap task so you won’t break the bank doing so.

Top off your brake fluid:

  • Brake fluid   moisture, which causes components to corrode and fail
  • Replacing the brake fluid and bleed system once a year will keep from damage happening
  • Brake fluid is pretty cheap

Service Your Nissan Now: https://www.lougheadnissan.com/Service-Appointment-Scheduler.html

The holiday season is quickly approaching, which means you might be traveling long distances to see your family and friends. And if you’ve been neglecting your ride, it’s time to spruce it up with a service appointment before hitting the road! Below, you’ll find a few things you’ll want to check up on before hitting the road this holiday season! And if you’re ready to upgrade your ride altogether, do so with the team right here at Loughead Nissan!

Tires

  • It’s no secret your tires are important to your performance if your tire tread is looking worn-down, has metal showing through the rubber, or crack and cuts it might be time for new ones. Stop in and have our technicians take a look. These are critical components for a road trip!

Engine Fluids

  • Your engine needs clean oil, coolant, and transmission fluid to run properly and maintain maximum performance. We recommend checking all fluid levels before hitting the road and making sure your oil change is up to date.

Brakes and Brake Fluid

  • Bad brakes and depleted brake pad fluid are a dangerous combination that can lead to dangerous situations for you, your passengers, and other drivers. Have your brakes and their fluid checked before a long trip and test your brakes capacity.

Travel Safe, Be Aware

  • Always follow the speed limit, use your turn signals when changing lanes or turning, watch for any debris on the road and always watch for wet and icy road surfaces.

Don’t Forget The Travel Tools

  • It is always smart to equip your vehicle with tools for an emergency; be sure to pack a first-aid kit, flashlight, blanket, umbrella, phone charger, and some snacks and water. Also, ensure that your spare tire is fully inflated and that you have the proper tools to change out a blown tire if one occurs.
