Our service department is OPEN for Loughead customers in need of repairs. If your vehicle is at risk of being a “vehicle off the road” due to mechanical failure, call us ASAP at 610-328-1500. First responders, Health Care Employees working through this crisis take PRIORITY above all customers. Special financing options also exist for major repairs. Again, Loughead customers, we are here for you! 

Sales:

But before that happens there are a few things you’ll have to check off your to-do list. What to-do list you ask? Well, spring cleaning/maintenance is a must for your vehicle! You want to have peace of mind when you slip behind the wheel for your next adventure. However, if you haven’t given your vehicle the TLC it deserves after the long winter season, you might find yourself running into issues down the road! Lucky for you, we have made a cheat sheet for you so you can get your spring maintenance done in no time!  Remove the winter tires

• This might be an obvious one, but many of us live fast-paced lives and we either forget or put it off as long as we can. But the truth is, leaving your winter tires on during the whole year can actually cause a lot of damage and even be dangerous. Once it looks like the coast is clear and we won’t be getting any more snow, set a day to change out your tire. 

Wash car’s exterior 

• Wash and wax your vehicle’s exterior to get rid of dust, dirt, and salt that has built up during the winter. Don’t forget to clean the tires, headlights and underneath for a full cleaning! If you’re not one to roll up your sleeves, no problem! A full-service car wash will do the same and usually isn’t too much money. 

Clean the trunk 

• Our truck is basically our closet on the go. We tend to throw a lot of useless stuff in there and then when we need to use it, we find that there is no room. Well, it’s time to rip off the bandaid and take everything out. Yes, I mean everything! Make a keep and throwout pile, whatever you don’t need in your vehicle be sure to bring it inside and not to put it back in your trunk. Make some space for new things and don’t forget to shake the trunk carpet liner.

Clean the interior 

• Don’t have a clean exterior and a messy interior, it’s dangerous to have your floors covered in clutter and you’ll feel better when your vehicle is cleaned up. You should also check under the seats and vacuum all the dirt and dried salt. Don’t ignore your vehicle’s seats. Make sure you don’t use any chemicals, which can cause damage, and rub the seats with a wet cloth instead. For more info on what to use, just check your owner’s manual.

We know that shopping for a new ride can be stressful, but we think it should be fun! We know your time and money are important to you, so below you will find a list of documents you will need to have a speedy and fast transaction, because you don’t want to have to come back later to pick up with your car, right? Your driver’s license: Your I.D. is proof that you are a legally registered driver, this is important since you have to drive off the lot. Your driver’s license is a way to identify that the check or another form of payment is actually yours, too. 

Your payment form: Whether it is a bank, credit union, or personal check, pre-approved loan, or any other payment form – be sure to bring it. If you are planning to put money towards a down payment you will need some way to pay for it.  

Proof of insurance: In order to drive your new vehicle off the lot, you will need proof of insurance. It’s a good idea to call your insurance company ahead of time and add the new vehicle to your existing policy. You’ll need the car’s VIN number to set this up. You can also call from the dealership and have them fax or email the insurance card to the dealership. 

Title/ Registration for your trade-in: If you are trading in a vehicle, be sure to bring the title. If you have a co-signer or a lien against the car, get the appropriate signature ahead of time. This part can be tricky and sometimes causes a hold-up. Give the dealership a call if you are unsure how to go about this. Also, you will need a copy of your current registration. 

Loan account number: If you are trading in a vehicle and still owe on your loan, bring the loan account number. This number is on one of your pay stubs. You can also call the lender beforehand and ask how to facilitate the transaction.

Hitting the road for the first road trip of the sping is always an exciting time, but most of the time you feel like you need to leave your furry friend behind if you’re traveling long distances. However, this week we are here to tell you that your fur babies can join in on the fun! Yes, you will have to do some preparations and planning ahead, but that means there is no time like now to start! So take a peek at our tips and tricks below and start preparing your next getaway! Before you hit the road, be sure to schedule a test drive so you can have confidence knowing you won’t run into issues down the road! 

Before you leave to make sure to pack: 

Lead, Collar, Leash, and ID tag: The last thing you want to happen is your dog to getaway in a place he doesn’t know, but be prepared for the worst. Make sure you have everything you’ll need to keep your dog from escaping, and everything you’ll need in case they do. 

Food, water, bowls: Bring more than you think! The last thing you want to do on vacation is run to the grocery store to find dog food. Tell yourself the same thing you did when you overpacked clothes…YOU MIGHT NEED IT! 

Blankets and baggies: Bring blankets for bedding, and warmth. Bring waste disposable bags for parking lot rest stops (You wouldn’t want to accidentally step in that, would you?) 

Old washcloths: For those pups that get down in the dirt, don’t stress about your car seats, just bring washcloths to clean off messy paws

Crates and restraints: Some dogs love the car! They jump right in, stick their head out the window, and let their ears fly! But unfortunately, that’s not a good idea. Even if your dog is usually a happy traveler, it isn’t safe for them to roam freely throughout the car, in the case of an accident. 

The crate isn’t going to work for your dog? Try this out!

• A harness that is fastened to a seat safety belt
• It provides the dog some freedom but restrains the dog in an accident.
• Be sure to buy a harness that’s specifically designed to be used with safety belts.

Break time is important: You might be down to take on a long drive little to no breaks but your dog isn’t. Plan on taking frequent stops like you would if you were traveling with a small child. Letting your dog out for potty breaks and to run around will burn off some pent-up energy, making you and your dogs ride my easier! 

Check with the vet: If this is your dog’s first trip you might want to talk to your vet and see if there is any medication that can help with motion sickness and anxiety.

• Clean off their ride: It’s February and in most of the country we are experiencing snowfall. Get up a little earlier and take a few minutes to wipe the snow off their vehicles windshield, mirrors, and the rest of their vehicle! Don’t forget to start the car so they can get into a toasty vehicle!

Have Their Coffee Ready To Go:

• It’s no secret the world runs on coffee, so take second to get your significant others coffee ready and place it in the cupholder so that when they get in their toast vehicle their coffee, tea, cocoa, etc. are ready for them and they can take on the day! Maybe even stash some chocolate hearts in the cupholder for a sweet treat later in the day!

Do Some Simple Preparation:

• If you’re on top of your gift-giving this year, order a small clip-on vase that attaches to the vehicle’s dashboard or clips on to the vehicle’s vents. Place a rose inside the vase or leave a valentine or two for a really cute surprise!

Fill Up Their Gas Tank:

• A full tank = a full heart. Do something as simple as filling up their gas tank and put a smile on your loved ones face when they slip behind the wheel!

Pump Their Ride:

• If you have a couple of extra bucks and you’re willing to spend it on your loved one, bring their ride for a professional cleaning and interior detailing or if you live in a warm place and the weather is nice, do a little DIY to show just how much you care!

Make Them A Mixtape:

• Make them a personalized playlist of love songs or songs that mean a lot to you both as a couple. This will be perfect for the commute to and from work and will really hit the soft spot!
