The Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) have been presented and three Nissan vehicles have earned the highest-possible Pick+ rating. With the new rating system, all three vehicles had to earn a “Good” rating in the overlap front, moderate overlap front, side and roof strength IIHS crash tests; offer a front crash prevention system that earns an “Advanced” or “Superior” rating; and earn an “Acceptable” or better rating for headlight visibility. The three models that earned this rating were the 2017 Nissan Altima, Maxima, and Rogue.
“Nissan is proud to have many of our North American-built vehicles recognized by IIHS for vehicle safety,” said Michael Bunce, vice president, Product Strategy and Planning, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA). “As a full-line manufacturer, Nissan places the safety and security of Nissan vehicle owners and their passengers as its top priority. Considering that 85-percent of the vehicles we sell in the U.S. are assembled in North America, we are gratified to see the company’s long-term investment in safety yielding results in these key vehicles receiving high marks from IIHS.”
