Nissan sales have been on the rise for the last few years and now, Interbrand has reported that they are the 4th fastest growing brand in the world! With a value of more than $1 billion this Nissan has not only landed a place on Interbrand’s prestigious 100 Best Global Brands list for the fifth year in a row but it has moved up in the ranks. Nissan had already made it to the top half of the list last year when they claimed the number 49 spot, but this year they have jumped up other six spots to land in the 43rd spot.
“Brand Power has been a consistent focus across the company for the last five years and it is very encouraging that all our efforts continue to be recognized by this influential brand ranking,” said Roel de Vries, corporate vice president and the global head of marketing and brand strategy for Nissan. “The fact that we remain the fastest growing automotive brand is also further proof that the story around our products and our vision for the future of driving is continuing to resonate.”
Nissan’s continued growth in the market can be attributed to a number of factors including their high-profile sponsorships such as the 2016 Rio Olympics and the UEFA Championships League, and their proactive approach to building brand excitement by sharing their Intelligent Mobility blueprint.
A few additional reasons for the brand’s growth that were shared by Interbrand include:
- Strong commitment to customer satisfaction
- New partnerships that focus on vehicle connectivity and connected services such as the one they just forged with Microsoft
- Strong brand presence and innovative brand expression such as the Nissan Crossing in the Ginza district of Tokyo
- The launch of innovative new products such as the GT-R NISMO and the Serena with ProPilot technology
