The annual “12 Best Family Cars of 2017” list from Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com has been released and the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder earned a spot for the fourth year in a row. Each year KBB.com editors put this list together by determining which models available in the market today offer features and capabilities that “best meet the needs of today’s families.”
“In a 3-row SUV like Pathfinder, access to the last row is critical in everyday use, both getting in and out of and negotiating around a child seat in the 2nd row,” said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations. “Our innovative 2nd row seat system, which tilts forward with a child seat still in place1, gives Pathfinder a big advantage over other 3-row designs, even before shoppers get behind the wheel for a test drive.”
Two specific factors of the 2017 Pathfinder that editors were especially impressed with included its engine and EZ Flex Seating System™ with LATCH AND GLIDE™. This vehicle comes equipped with a 284 horsepower 3.5-liter Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) V6 Engine that, when properly equipped, offer a class-leading max towing capacity of 6,000-pounds. The EZ Flex Seating System™ with LATCH AND GLIDE™ is ideal for loading and unloading families as it makes it easier to access the third row with a child safety seat installed thanks to the second row tilt and glide seat.

Nissan Division Announces Record January Sales
The Nissan Division set a new January record with total sales up four percent to end the month with 100,761 units sold. The Rogue and Pathfinder also set new January records with total sales of the Rogue increasing 46 percent to reach 28,760 units and total sales of the Pathfinder increasing 13 percent to reach 7,281 units. Additionally, the TITAN and Armada both experienced rather impressive year-over-year increases with TITAN sales up 195 percent and Armada sales up 147 percent.
January 2017 Nissan Highlights:
- Sales of the Maxima reached 3,738 units
- Sales of the Sentra reached 13,444 units
- Sales of the 370Z reached 324 units
- Sales of the Frontier reached 3,857 units
- Sales of the Murano reached 4,363 units
- Sales of the Altima reached 18,931 units
- Sales of the Versa increased 10.8 percent to reach 8,870 units
- Sales of the JUKE reached 1,304 units

Nissan Highlights More Fan-Fueled Traditions
Last month, Nissan announced that they would be showcasing their support of collegiate sports through a series of new videos entitled Fan Fueled Traditions. That initial announcement came with the release of the first five videos in the series and now, as we head into the second month of 2017, an additional six videos have been released with even more to come. Each of these videos feature a long-held fan tradition from a different college or university. In each spot, we see the fans of these teams gather together to proudly participate in this tradition as they cheer on their team on the football field. Each video also features interviews with fans, players, and coaches discussing the history of this tradition and what it means to them to be part of it. Just last week, Kelley Blue Book presented their 2017 Best Resale Value Awards to automakers at the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention in New Orleans. Each year, Kelley Blue Book determines the winners of these awards by using the Kelley Blue Book® Official Residual Value Guide to determine which models will have the highest value retention within the first five years of ownership. The winning vehicle in the full-size car category was none other than the 2017 Nissan Maxima.
