Winter coats are a basic daily necessity that most of us take for granted when the weather turns cold. Once the temperature begins to dip below a certain point we all grab our coats as the first level of protection against the cold when we step outside. However, while most of us may not think twice about the availability of a jacket there are many kids out there who are not fortunate enough to have such a basic necessity.

It was this need that led the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia (ADAGP) to the create the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation back in 2003. Initially, the program started out by providing to support to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia along with a variety of other child-related programs. In the past 16 years, the Foundation has contributed over $9.3 million to these organizations. Back in 2008, the Foundation expanded to develop their signature program “Driving Away the Cold” which focuses specifically on providing winter coats to children in need. As of 2015, the program had successfully provided 220,182 winter coats to children all throughout the Delaware Valley.

Loughead® Nissan is proud to be a supporter of this incredible Foundation and the incredibly important “Driving Away the Cold” program. As a result, for every vehicle that is purchased from our dealership we will be donating a coat to a child in need through this program. So be sure to stop by 755 S. Chester Rd, RT 320-, Swarthmore, PA 19081 today to check out all of the new Nissan vehicles that we have available. You could be driving home in an incredible brand new vehicle and helping a worthy cause at the same time.

Educating today’s students on the importance of sustainability is the key to creating a more positive and brighter future. Therefore, the nonprofit organization Urban Green Lab has created a mobile classroom that focuses solely on sustainability, what it is, why it is important, and how we can promote it in our everyday lives. This organization is run by educator Catherine Walker who travels all over the Nashville area bringing this 30-foot mobile classroom to Middle School and High Schools in order to provide the students with a fun, interactive way to learn about the importance of sustainability.

Nissan is a founding partner of this organization and not only provided the funding to get this program started but they also provided a Nissan TITAN XD to help haul the mobile classroom around the city to and from the different schools. Learn more about Urban Green Lab in the video below!
